At 0937 Kawena (RH36) hauled out to join Kekoa. They would snooze away the day together.
At 0920 Lesley called with the report of a 60% molted RW02 Erdman side of the Lyman Mansion, and at 0940 called again to advise that an 80% molted RK36 was in the Naupaka right in front of their house. She hadn’t seen him on her way out, since he was hidden from that angle, however when she headed back he was visible.
Some days ago Lesley called with news that gotten from a friend about Waimanu (RW34) on the Big Island, had pupped. A week or so later Tammy T., made me aware of an Instagram story about the pup being taken by the huges waves we’ve been experiencing. She had lost 3 previous pups, so it was even more of a tragedy. That was two days ago. On a routine look at the Instagram page today I found a piece about the amazing return of Waimanu’s pup after two days on his own. How warm & fuzzy is that !! I heard about the pup getting washed away, and was heartbroken. This is the best news .... and we could all use some good news.
