On a pan at 1032 I found Pua (RF34) on the left end rock flats. She too would remain, snoozin’ in the drizzle all day.
At 1003, hiding under my umbrella I found Kea (RN46) down in the cove on the Sandy Beach side of the Blowhole Lookout.
Gayle called at 1054 with the report of both Buster (RV08) & Kaiwi (RK96) at China Walls. This marks the first time that both have been there. Sadly, when I arrived at 1119 Gayle advised that Buster had departed at 1100. Bummer !!
Gayle had only her phone/camera so the small shot doesn’t show much. Her heart is good , and I’m sure Buster was there.
Team Billand called at 0819 to advise that M&M (R020) was once again workin’ her buoy. She would haul out fronting the Snack Shack at White Plains at 0915.
Thanks to Jean, Ralph & Angela. Marilyn & Lesley did the usual Saturday trek to the end of the world today. At 1030 Marilyn checked in to advise that they had found Ka’ena (RO40) around 0900, at the runway, and Kerby (RW08) about 0930, checking various pools, at Ka’ena Point.
Diane Gabriel checked in at 1414, huddled in her car, at Turtle Bay waiting for a break in the down pour. She advised that her day had begun with word of a biggun’ & a littlun’ attempting to haul out the Kuilima Cove at Turtle Bay.
Volunteer Joanne had also gotten that word and responded but alas the animals were said to have departed in a Kawela Bay direction. Diga , hardy soul that she is trekked off all the way to Kawela Bay & back in the down pour, but alas never found anybody. That is why she was huddled in her car. Joanne had told her that she’d spent her morning with Meli (RF20) & Kaikaina (RL54) at the Elbow, Kaihalulu Beach. Diga was readying herself for the trek that way, hoping for a break in the down pour. She did make it to the elbow and found only Meli (RF20).
Colleen Heyer called at 1629 with the report of RI37 & RIP (RR70) together at the graffiti bunker, near her house at Diamond Head. He rainy shots confirm the ID. The guy in her shots refused to leave the SPZ and showed his displeasure by throwing on the signs in the water. There always has to be one .
RIP was last at Diamond Head on 4-12-14. I can find no evidence of RI37 ever having been to DH, or anywhere in the SE quadrant for that matter. Thanks to Val for sending along the latest shots of both PK1 & PK2 on Kauai.
