4-21-2014 DB's Dailies: Sadie&Pup,Kainoa,U/U@RI, T21M@SB, Buster@CW, R018@WP, Rocky@EB, RI37@Waialua, Benny@Makaha, RK36@Maili

At 0700, from the Makapuu Overview I could see Sadie & Pup in the water off shore of the left end of Rabbit Island. When I got back to the pier at 1000 they were on the beach and doing a feed. One of 3 observed feeds today.

　

I sat at Sandy Beach from 0900, awaiting the arrival of T21M to the Blowhole end of the beach as has been the case of late. At 0926 out of the corner of my eye I spied an animal hauling out to the main beach, at the Half Point end of the beach. I responded and cordoned him off, just ahead of the hordes and tour busses arrival. He has remained all day. Gayle called to advise that T21M had departed at 1657.

　

When I got back to Makai Pier at 1000 I found mom & pup doing a feed with Kainoa (RN04) 20 ft away. There was never any observed interaction.

　

Also at 1000 I found an adult sized animal barely visible up in the Morning Glory at 1BS. Being an overcast and mostly rainy day there was never any reason for the animal to move, so it didn’t. I was not able to get an ID.

　

At 1051 Gayle called with the report of an animal at China Walls. At 1327 I confirmed the Buster (RV08) ID. He’d last been seen in the SE quadrant on 3-3-14.

　

Team Billand called at 0733 with the report of R018 at #1706, White Plains. He departed at 1515.

　

At 1000 they found Rocky (RH58) at Access 186D, Ewa Beach.

Dana called at 1145 to advise that Liz Weske had reported RI37 in Waialua. Photo confirmation received. She had last been seen on 2-28-14.

　

At 1232 the Billands advised that Cianna had called about an animal in Makaha at 0830. Posse member Debbie had responded. The Billands confirmed the Benny (RE74) ID. He departed at 1845.

　

At 1434 Team Billand found RK36 at Maili Point.
