On my first look at Rabbit Island at 0705 I found Sadie & Pup (RB12)(D#7) at the far left end of the beach. They would remain all day, moving down for a shore break water session and later a coupla’ feeds, and of course lots of snoozin’. This was D#7 with da’ pup, and as it happens, Sadie’s 7th Birthday !! Happy Birthday Sadie !!!
Also at 0705 I found Kainoa (RN04) fronting 1BS, on RI. I saw a few galumphs and got a look at his left shoulder through the day. Ama and her DOFAW crew were out there today and she reported his wound and provided an phone/camera shot .
On a pan at 0948 I found RM38 just hauling out to Kainoa’s location. He never got closer than 20 ft, and at 0951 reentered the water. I did not see him again. I assume his R5AY romance has ended.
At 0640 Team Billand reported R018 at #1706 , White Plains. Diane T would report his departure at 1216.
At 0702 the Billands reported Buster (RV08) fronting #1708. Diane T would report his departure at 1050.
At 1055 Team Billand called to advise that they had Ewa Girl (RS00) and a smaller animal, later (1212) confirmed as her son Kekoa (RK72).
At 1203 Ocean Safety called with the report of an U/U at Magic Island. Dana advised that Todd was responding, and at 1326 confirmed the Rocky (RH58) ID. Todd’s shot confirms the Rocky (RH58) ID.
At 1229 Dana advised she had a caller reporting an animal believed to be Haupu at Nanakuli. The Billands responded but for nobody upon their arrival.
The Donna called at 1250 advising that her kayaker posse had reported 2 animals on Moku Nui. Photos from Laura Stanley confirmed the KC (RK28) and Aukai (RL12) on the Mokes. Donna also advise that she had gotten a posse report of 2 animals on Lanikai Beach last night, with no report.
At 1334 Team Billand reported finding Nihoa (R912) at Guard Rails, Maili .
Diga mail at 1928 brought news of Meli (RF20) at Turtle Bay, and R5AY at Kualoa Point. Thank You.............very much !!
