I got back to AD at 0952, just in time to see both awake and active. With the pup in the lead they headed off for another swim session in the swimming hole. It was a 30 minute session. The pup seemed a bit more water worthy today. They hauled out to the water front rocks to the right of the swim area and moved to their regular tide pool.
Donna called at 1400 to advise that Irma & Pup were uncomfortably close to the Makapuu end fence, after an afternoon swim. I had picked up more fence just because this has been the case over the last few days. Today the boundary got extended....again . Thank You Donna!
I got to Makai Pier for a Rabbit Island session at 1110. There found the usual suspects, Duke (RA12), Kolohe (RW22) and Nani (RK60) to the right of Seal Rock Inlet. Duke and Kolohe got into Seal Rock Inlet for a swim/play session at 1142 and hauled out again to the same location to rejoin Nani at 1204.
Team Billand checked in at 0903 to advise that they had found RIP (RR70) and M&M once again together at Maili Point. At 1124 they reported Ewa Girl (RS00) at Kalaeloa Campgrounds, however she departed just as they arrived .
Vera Cober did her usual outstanding job, documenting today's edition of life in the Keiki Pool, with R5AY & Pup, on D#29. Thank You Vera ! Email from "Diga" Gabriel, echoed Vera's tale of the interactions between Mom & Pup at Turtle Bay. No other Mother and Pup I know have the relationship that R5AY and her pups have. It has been the same bickering, battling, and sniping with each and everyone of them, so I must assume that it is R5AY, and not the pups that are responsible for the unique relationship. If there is a silver lining to the relationship, it is that everyone of her pups, so absolutely no reaction on weaning day. Maybe that is her plan ?????
