8-23-11 DB Dailies

When we arrived at the ADs site at 0600, to our shock we found Irma &pup near the east end fence line, 80 ft or so further east than ever before since this began. Their location over the last couple of days have been oriented in that direction. It was obvious late some fence moving would be required. I thought at the time that they had probably done a swim in a shallow area to the east of the water front rock flats they've been on since this began. This was supported when at 0807 the pup took off for the water, with Irma in pursuit, into the shallow water area, which was swimmable depth for the kid, though Irma could barely submerge. After several minutes in that area, Irma led the pup toward the water front flats that they have been using since this began. They spent the bulk of the day in their favorite tide pool. Around noon they moved up just above the rocks, and remained there the rest of the day. There were 4 observed feeds. Thank You Lesley for the YouTube footage. (see next post for clip)

Thank you to Marilyn, Lesley, Tammy & Team Dill, with a special guest appearance by our beloved Donna Festa. awww thanks DB, next best thing to hanging out with Irma and pup is spending some quality time with you...
I got an abbreviated look at Rabbit Island at 1109. I found Duke (RA12), Kolohe (RW22) and Nani (RK60), all together on the water front rocks, right of Seal Rock Inlet.

Team Billand had a bumper crop day. At 0900 they reported RIP (RR70), and M&M (R020) together again, at Tracks. They got a good shot of M&M passing tapeworms. All animals I know have them, and you are likely to see them in both poo and spew. This is what you are looking for.

At 1000 they reported Kekoa (RK72), 7/10th of a mile from the birth beach on the Reef Runway.  At 1027 the found Ewa Girl (RS00) on the birth beach, with a washed up boat . Probably a good time to mention they also found a rogue row boat... so does Team Billand have some type of debri magnet... they honestly come across some amazing stuff...
At 1212 they confirmed the RI37 ID on an animal at Nanakai Beach, in Maili, or Nanakuli (I'm not sure of the geography).  Last but certainly not least they reported young master Benny (RE74) at LahiLahi Point.

Nice shot of Kekoa in the forefront and his tracks behind him
Barb could you walk to this area or did you have to drive.? Which gate number?
This boy is too cute (curious and silly)
Team Billand Debris patrol.... your timing is everything.. I was there a couple of days ago, I never found a boat.
Ewa Girl @ Reef Runway birthing beach
 RIP and M+M @ tracks
Looks like next years pup will have RIP as papa
 RIP
Close up of M+M expelling what looks to be a lot of worms... now I know worms are common, but geesh this doesn't look so good... talk about having some bad seafood.
 RI37 @ Maili
She's looking good lets hope her next pregnancy is a healthy one
 and finally Benny @ LahiLahi
seems he's being lazy and not cruising for the ladies
