7-23-11 DB Dailies

At 0625 I found Nani (RK60) foraging off shore of the left end of Rabbit Island. When I got back to Makai Pier at 0830 I found her snoozin' where she had spent all day yesterday, on the far left end of the beach. She remained there all day. On a pan at 1021 I found Kolohe (RW22) newly hauled out to Rocky Right Beach at the right end of RI. He too would remain the rest of the day.

At 0725, surfer posse member , Dave Martin called to report an animal near the showers at Diamond Head. I called Colleen immediately, and she confirmed the Rocky (RH58) ID at 0810. On her 1258 recheck, Rocky had departed.

At 0754 Team Billand reported Max (R5EW) fronting #1945, Nimitz Cottaqes. On a 1542 recheck they reported that he had relocated 100 yds down the beach, fronting #1777. Per the Billands, Max departed at 1627.  At 0843 the Billands called to say that posse member Clay Gates had reported T21M newly arrived to Iroquois Point.  At 1226 Team Billand reported Benny (RE74) between LG tower#1 and the fence. Vera Cober advised that Benny departed at 1355, headed west. Team Billands reported Benny fronting #1945 (Max's old spot) at 1542. That no doubt had alot to do with Max's decision to move. He appears to be approximately 60% molted.

Dana called at 1353 to advise that "N3" (Irma/R010) had been reported hauling out to Paradise Cove, KoOlina 30 minutes earlier. When volunteer Linda Staton arrive Irma was gone.

Marilyn (Mrs. Whisperer) did the Ka'ena Point trek today. She found Pohaku (RO28) on a piece of beach approximately 10 minutes in from the Mokuleia side parking lot at 0835, and then encountered RI37 on another beach approximately 25 minutes in. RI37 is 30% molted. At the point she found 761 at 1021, and Kerby (RW08) joined her at 1118.
