The Irma Quest began at the crack of dawn, but after many a mile and many hours of lookin' , there was no findin'. Only Irma knows where she was hiding today.
Along the way, I found Buster (RV08), once again patroling the Spitting Cave area, doing 7 minute dives, at 0920. On my afternoon check of the Kokee Flats, workers above Irma's Grotto said Buster had been there at 1130, but came...looked, and left. I found him at Spitting Cave at 1415, still doing 7 minute dives.
On my 2nd look at Rabbit Island, at 0920, I found Aukai (RL12), or more exactly, a sliver of Aukai's belly, barely visible in Seal Rock Inlet.
When I got back for my 1245 recheck she was still there.
At 1246 Duke (RA12) hauled out to the water front rocks, 40 ft left of Seal Rock Inlet. He and Aukai were 200 ft apart and there was never any interaction observed. They were the only RI residents today.
Team Billand checked in at 0600 to report Pohaku (RO28) once again at Secret Beach, KoOlina. It was only after her report that she dropped the little factoid that she was going into the shop for cataract surgery today. I spoke with her this afternoon, post op, and she is home, well, with a patch, and looking forward to getting back to da' job. Jan Dill sent a Pohaku photo and advised that the Dills, along with Linda, and Andrea plus some untrained help were on it out there in the Billand's absence. Knowing that was a source of grrrrrreat comfort to Barbara. A 1745 call from Robert, reported that Linda had called them to advise that Pohaku has swum off into the sunset and 1730. Tomorrow ????????
Dear Miss Barbara.... I am happy you had your eye taken care of, however it is VERY important you listen to the doctor and take it easy initially..... you want to make sure you heal correctly! This is an order from the blog lady and the blog readers.... so there.
