Kolohe (RW22) and Duke (RA12) were waiting for me at Rabbit Island at 0638. Kolohe was near 1BS, and Duke at his usual spot at Left Middle Cliff. Duke has begun his molt. At end of day he was 15%.
At 0917, on a pan I found Aukai (RL12) at Seal Rock Inlet. The entire cast remained all day.
At 1115 Gayle would call to advise that Kaiwi was now at Lanai Lookout.
At 1255 Gayle called again to report that Buster had now joined Kaiwi at LL. Actually, Gayle had reported earlier that Buster had done a come..look..leave at LL since there was no Kaiwi at the time. On this stay, the rising tide and rough conditions were too much for Buster and he took off after just 15 minutes.
Team Billand had a heck of a morning, much of the time being just behind departed animals, but they still had a bumper croppa' critters.
At 0601 the Billands reported Pohaku (RO28) at Nanakai Beach, Maile. Debbie was with her most of the time. Debbie reported that another animal had joined Pohaku at 1018. When the Billands got there at 1107 the critter had just departed. Debbie however gave a perfect description of Benny (RE74).
That wasn't to be Pohaku's only visitor . At 1322 the Billands advised that 2AW had joined her. Debbie reported that 2AW had departed at 1506, and Pohaku at 1507, in the opposite direction.
Team Billands had responded to a Dera call about an animal at White Plains at but the animal was gone when they arrived at 0657.
At 0657 Dera called them again with a report of 2 animals at Ewa Beach. The animals were gone when the Billands got there at 0721.
I called posse members Mark & Moe at 0825, who are EB residents. They reported an animal at Access 186D. The always reliable Vera Cober ran over and confirmed the Rocky (RH58) ID at 0852.
Dera called at 0849 to advise that R5AY was still at Turtle Bay, with no change in status. I'll attach some Zeeny photos from yesterday.
Also at 0849 she reported animals at Paradise Cove, and at Electric Beach. Team Billand would confirm the PC animal as Irma (R010). The Billands reported her departure at 1746. The Electric Beach animal was gone when they arrived.
The Billands called at 1528 to advise that Clay Gates had called them, reporting the arrival of Rocky at Iroquois Point.
Team Billand called at 1551 to advise that they were responding to a Dera call about 3 animals at Access 186D, in Ewa Beach. When they arrived they found only 2, and confirmed them as RIP (RR70) and M&M (R020). Given the cast of characters that was running around the area today, it could have been anybody, but my guess would be that RIP & M&M probably hauled out to Rocky's location, and she took off, but ????????????
Barbara called to advise that they would be late tonight, so check the blog in the morning for all their adventures.
Conversation with Tracy today brought word that the Dr. Littnan mob is on Molokai as of yesterday. RM38 ran afoul of Charles yesterday and is now outfitted with a Critter Cam, Cell Tag, and an 3 axis accelerometer (whatever that might be). Can't wait to see the footage.
Rocky looking brand new
Kaiwi @ Lanai Lookout
