8-3-2012 DB's Dailies:

My first pass through the SE quadrant was a bust until I got to Spitting Cave, at 0709 . There I found Buster (RV08), after a 1 day visit home at RI, back on patrol at SC. He was doing 7 minute dives.

Gayle called at 0720 to advise that she was with Kaiwi (RK96) at Lanai Lookout.

When I got back for my 2nd Rabbit Island check at 0902 I found Kolohe (RW22) snoozin' on the water front rocks, 80 ft right of 3BS. He would enter the water at 1133.

Gayle called at 1017 to report that Buster was now snoozin' at Irma's Grotto, Kokee Flats.

On my 3rd RI look I found that Aukai (RL12) was now snoozin' at 3BS, and that Kolohe was once again on the beach, again, 80 ft right of 3BS.

When I got back for the 4th RI check I found what would prove to be Aukai, Kolohe and Duke (RA12) were all playing in the shallows fronting 3BS on RI.

At 1312 Aukai hauled out to 3BS, and at 1320 Kolohe and Duke hauled out together 80 ft right of 3BS.

Dana called at 0728 to advise that R912&Pup and Right Spot (R016) were all within the SPZ at Mokuleia. Confirming of all have been received. Posse member Zeeny reported that Right Spot departed at 1430.

Team Billand called at 0730 to advise that Pohaku (RO28) was once again at Secret Beach, KoOlina.

Team Biland checked in at 1310 to report that Irma (R010) was at Wind Sock, Kalaeloa Beach.

Afternoon email from Dera advised that R5AY was at Malaekahana Beach Park today. Confirming photos have been received.

Team Billand called at 1635 to advise that posse member Clay had called with the report of T21M (7GY) at Iroquois Point. He may well have been there all day, but this was the first report.

Zeeny called at 1732 with the report of an U/F at Camp Erdman, just down the way from the pup site. Zeeny's photos confirm that it was Right Spot. Her notched hind flipper made the call easy.

Just a thought to volunteers.... if you have free time it would be most beneficial to the monk seals, other volunteers and the overall volunteer program to call into Dana Jones, or Dera Look. Your services may be needed at a different site.
