Ewa Girl has been in residence at Rabbit Island for 10 days. Today, Duke (RA12) had the Left Middle Cliff area all to himself all day. Ewa Girl ????????? I found Duke on my first look at 0630, and he remained all day.
At 0830 , on a pan I found Aukai (RL12) on the water front rocks, 80 ft left of Seal Rock Inlet. She would go into the water with the rising tide, at 1216. She would haul out to the same location at 1418.
We were combing the other SE quadrant spots as usual, and batting zero until Terri called at 1146, along with Zeeny, reporting Buster (RV08) at Lanai Lookout. Initially, he appeared to be foraging but did haul out to look for Kaiwi, but alas she was nowhere to be found.
Team Billand checked in at 0553 reporting that Pohaku (RO28) had overnighted at Secret Beach.
At 0920 Vera called to say that she and Clay had gone down to check on Rocky (RH58) at the same time, and found that she had overnighted in the same location. Clay reported that she departed at 1015. Allow me a moment here to heap many kudos on Clay Gates. Though having to work for a living he is always there to cover IRQ calls as well as anything in the Ewa Beach area. Clay...you are worth your weight in Manapua !!!! I second that!!

Okay Pohaku took posing lessons from Maka'iwi - since we can't have her here, Pohaku is filling in on her squiggly wiggly poses.
Adoring fans gather
I'm ready for my close up.

I third that Clay Gates is THE MAN!! I miss our talks at Iroquios Pt, when the seals would come in and we would go visit a bit. Yes, he is a good soul and does look out for our seals. He is missed, but, he still calls it in if a seal is on shore. Maybe he will find T21M out there soon with Rocky of course. Hi Clay!!! How Ya doin?????
Thanks to Linda once again for being there with Pohaku at 5:30am. She did double duty today, first with Pohaku, then at 7:30 left to go take care of the turtles at Laniakea on the north shore. Hows that for a volunteer!!!!!! She is a really cool lady that I admire. She is pretty, smart, kind, gentle tone, just so sweet to be with. And always willing to learn and help in any way. She got a neat golf cart we go searching the beaches with...aint that cool???
Thanks to April for sticking it out after that rather awful sunburn last week. Watch out for our Hawaiian Blazing sun, you can get so toasted out at KoOlina huh???
And thanks to Sue and Sam also. All you guys are awesome souls.
WE appreciate the much needed help after 24 LONGGGGGG HOTTTT DAYS with Miss Pohaku.
And Thanks vera for your two hour watch today as well. If any body else went out today, thanks to you too, dont want to leave any one out. God bless, B.
