We had covered over 21 beaches, looking for a certain seal, I37. But instead we came up with four other seals, Pohaku who finally moved out of KoOlina to Nanakai Beach...This beach is very populated, usually with pitbulls, lots of people, kids. We were lucky it was a better day, but, we called for help per Debbie. Miss Debbie was THE ONLY VOLUNTEER to help us out and we are so fortunate she did. God bless you Debbie for staying with Miss Pohaku from 9am to 5pm. For us we tried to help her out by dropping by on our searches. But that ended when we went to WHite Plains with two big seals on shore. Rip and Miss M and M.

Well after a few hours, we thought, eh, not so crowded, maybe we can leave to go help with Debbie. So we took the ropes down, left all the signs. Just as we began to think of walking away. . .

THE BENNY came barreling on shore in a flash. He went up to M and M, sniffed her and bit her on the belly. Rip awoke in 2 seconds, jumping in the air, growling, whooping DA BENNY. The fight was on and it was wild kingdom, with tails flying, heads up in the air, mouths wide opened, snorting, biting, mouthing, WHOOPING!!!! We got the ropes back up, fast, people gathered all along the ropes, the perimeter not as large, so people were pretty close and were so excited. Benny ALWAYS BRINGS...DRAMA, TRAUMA, HELL!!!!

Rob and I got the crowd back, there were lots of little ones, that is spooky with three seals brawling on shore with the public right up close and personal.

In the end, after RIP dive bombs Benny, both are going at it, M and m moves to the upper shore, turns on her side to snooze. Benny and Rip had moved to the water to fight, then Benny flies out to the deeper water in seconds. He lerks along the shore, Rip charging the Benny, over and over. He was THE ALPHA seal, taking care of his woman. Benny continues to lerk in the water, folks are just enjoying this NATIONAL GEO MOMENT. Rip charges Benny one last time, with this humungous growl, and Benny suddenly dives deep and shows up farther away. The crowd realizing, BENNY IS THE .... LOSER, pouting, whooping, chest high above water, STILL LOOKING. RIp Continues us shore to check on his babe..M and M who is sleeping THREW ALL OF THE FIGHT. And then afer a WHILE, Benny moves on, Bobbing his way down the coast line passing Kalaeloa.

The Crowd moves on, fight is done, RIp continues to go up and down, moaning at M and M.

I called Debbie, said we cant leave now with the Bennie here, its too dangerous. She says she'll stay alone with Pohaku.

4:13pm We decide to look for Benny. And to our delight, we FOUND him just coming around Jetty at Nimitz Cove, bobbing up and down, looking. That seal is super fast and came to shore, then continued on to Pass, Campbells and beyound.

Headed back to M and M, Rip right at her side, guarding her, looking up every few seconds. All was so much better. By 6pm we took the ropes down, left 8 signs up. Educated all near by and said we were leaving.

DEBBIE..our only volunteer calls to say, she is leaving, Locals talked out loud, Pohaku got spooked and decided to leave around 5pm. GOod, oh Debbie we are so very grateful for your guarding Pohaku, sorry we didnt make it back.

And then....we all went home. Phew!!!! Rob and I walked away from our two big seals still on shore, moving higher up due to the tide rising. They were fine...it was time to GO.
