3-14-2012 DB Dailies: Kolohe, Kaiwi&Nani@RI, Kermit@WP, M&M@EB, RO28@Paradise Cove

All of the SE quadrant action was on Rabbit Island today. I met Teri & Gayle at Kaupo Beach Park, so as to prove that my ravings about gazillions of birds was a fact, and not just a Crater Festival flashback. As of 0645, they are believers .

At 0705 we found Kolohe (RW22) just hauling out to the left end of the island, 40 ft left of 1BS. He would galumph up to check out behind the dunes, and finding nobody, galumphed back down and reentered the water.

It was not until I relocated to the Makapuu Overview (MO), at 0742, that I found Kolohe again. He was now on the water front rocks, 70 ft right of Seal Rock Inlet. He had not been visible from Kaupo BP. Along side him was a little head sticking up out of tide pool. When the animal came into full view, it proved to be Kaiwi (RK96). They would enter the water for a swim/play session in Seal Rock Inlet and at 0954, from KBP, Kolohe would haul out 70 ft left of SRI. When I relocated back to MO, I found that Kaiwi was now on the water front rocks, 70 ft right of SRI. The two critters would remain at those locations the rest of the day. Kaiwi was visible only from the Makapuu Overview.
Dera sent a Kaiwi map from yesterday, confirming that Kaiwi is at Rabbit Island.

At 1045 Nani (RK60) hauled out the the left end of the island, 40 ft left of 1BS. She would galumph to the top of the beach front incline, and remained there the rest of the day.

Most of my day , and all of the shots were at MO. The quality of the shots from that distance really sux but it was the only place that all of the cast could be seen.
Team Billand called at 0808 with the report of Kermit (R012) at White Plains.
At 1050 they found M&M (R020), near Access #185c in Ewa Beach. Posse member Toni Russ also sent confirming M&M photos.
At 1348, after a lot of running around, with inaccurate info, to various lagoons, Team Billand finally found Pohaku (RO28) at Lanikohonua Beach, KoOlina.
