At 0721 I found what would prove to be Sadie (RB12) tucked into the base of the
cliff, 40 ft left of 1BS on Rabbit Island. It would take until 1400 to finally
get the ID.
On my 2nd RI check I found
Kolohe (RW22) on the water front rocks , right of Seal Rock Inlet. He would
relocated at 1230.
At 1011 Nani (RK60) hauled
out 40 ft right of 1BS on RI. She would be joined at 1230 by Kolohe. The would
remain there together the rest of the day.
At 1030 posse member Robert
called to advise that Kaiwi (RK96) was in her Naupaka bush at Kaiwi Kove. The
elves were on it ! Kaiwi snoozed away the rest of the day, starting her
departure at 1806, and reaching open water at 1811.
Even though we know where
Kaiwi was today, I'm attaching yesterday's Kaiwi map which Dera sent late this
afternoon. For the first time it shows that Kaiwi went around the corner at
Makapuu, and was nearing Rabbit Island as of 0100. Verrrrry, interesting !
Team Billand called at 0828
to report T15M at Kalaeloa Campgrounds.
At 0945 Colleen called with
the report of an animal at Diamond Head. She would later confirm the Irma (R010)
ID.
Dera checked in at 1158 with
the report of an animal at the trough, at Magic Island. Sean confirmed the Rocky
(RH58) ID. He went to bleach her, but Rocky won't cooperate.
Email from Dr. Charles
advised that Duke (RA12) has FINALLY phoned home ! He got his transmitter on
1-23-12, and immediately split for Molokai. He was reported there by Diane Pike
on 1-26-12. His transmitter has never sent a signal until today. It shows him
cruisin' on an off shore island of east Molokai.
Karen Bryan forwarded photos
from Game Warden Mark Takekawa, confirming KC's(RK28) presence yesterday at
around 1700 behind #1605, MCBH. Those of you who served KP2 duty, eons ago will
recognize the bench she hauled out too. It was our base of operation on that
project.
Volunteers were out in force
, combing the North Shore for the possible Mom & Pup reported at Haleiwa
yesterday. There were no sightings.
At 1630 Team Billand found
Benny (RE74) at Maili Point.
At 1700 they reported Pohaku
(RO28) at Electric Beach.
Benny @ Maili Point
