I
spent many an hours, from many a location, but at the end of the day, my day was
Kaiwi free. At 0647 I found Kolohe (RW22) just hauling out to 1BS on Rabbit
Island. He did his usual search and then reentered the water to patrol to the
right end of the island, where he hauled out right of Seal Rock Inlet, and again
finding nobody, went to snooze mode. He awoke at 1304 and once again patrolled
to the left end and then back to the right. It is one thing that I couldn't find
Kaiwi. It's a more telling point that Kolohe couldn't find her either. Tomorrow
???
Posse member Gayle called at
1016 with the report of an animal in the cove to the Sandy Beach side of the
Blowhole Lookout. I arrived at 1025, and by 1051 had confirmed that it was
Buster (RV08). I called Tracy, requesting a Bleach Boy response, and Mark
Sullivan came out and got an N21 bleach on Buster's left side, mid body. That is
going to help a lot. Thank You Mark !!
Diamond Head posse pro
Colleen called at 0706 with the report of Irma (R010), just down the beach a
short way from her backyard.
At 0850 Team Billand
reported Kermit (R012) at Kermit's Reef, on the west side of the Nimitz
Jetty.
At 0952 they found M&M
(R020) at the fence line, White Plains.
Dera called at 1118 with a
report from Reef Runway posse member ,
Eileen reporting a probable Ewa Girl (RS00), and an U/U at the RR.
Dera checked in again at
1304 with the report of an animal at the Mokes. An afternoon email and photo
from Anissa from the Kailua Sailboard & Kayak Co. confirmed the Nani (RK60)
ID. She reported the tags as S60/S61, but that is close enough. For a brief moment when I spoke with the KSK folks, I thought maybe just maybe Kaiwi came to Kailua.... but taking a quick look at the photo when Anissa was sending it off to Dera, I didn't see the transmitter... so my guess was Nani, especially since she had stopped over on the Mokes before. I got to get back to kayaking again.
Team Billand checked in
again at 1457 with the report of Noa (R6FI) at Maili.
Diane Pike sent photos
of Duke (RA12) and Mojo (RI17), both Oahu (RI) boyz, who have been hangin' on
Molokai of late. They were but two amongst a gang of others.
Speaking of Duke, posse
member Stacey Stella, sent a Facebook posting of a Duke map, apparently showing
his activities ever since he got his transmitter. It is difficult to make out,
but the boy has definitely been runnin' around the Molokai/Maui area.
Buster N21 @ blow hole
