March 27, 2026 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:51 to 1:38 pm and there were three seals seen during that time.
On LPB was an Adult Unknown: adult size, lighter ventral at least one tag and possible applied bleach on right side.
Between 3BS and SRI was a Juvenile Unknown: juvenile size, lighter ventral, two red tags, no info in sex.
On the rock flats behind the SRI channel was a Sub-adult Unknown: smaller sub-adult size, older coat with lots of green, two red tags. If Marilyn had to guess she thought it was a male, but reported as an Unknown.

Team R&B started on the west side Their first find was Miss Kala RH76. She was alone resting at the zen area.
They were looking out over the water and noticed something shiny on the surface. They realized it was another seal. They spotted the cc scar on his back. The seal came in to the seal inlet and came up. They were happy to see it was RG28 Lefty.  He slowly joined Kala at the zen.
So many people were out and about today, so Team R&B stuck around. There was a family yelling at Kala so she would do a trick.
Team R&B walked over and stayed by them and explained the seals were resting. They left the area so Team R&B left to search other areas.

Over at Kahe RG32 was seen. He was alone resting on the rocks.

They met up with a friend viewing the carcass, trying to see if they could spot a Tiger shark. They did see on a very large one. The water was murky so it was hard to see clearly. Then as they were scanning
the water when they saw big splashes and flippers flying. It was two seals fighting. They passed the carcass and kept going. They did not get an ID so they were both reported as Unknown Adults.

Team R&B got a text and photos of a big female at Plains. Their friend Hiroko was on site, so they texted back and told her that there are three females that have been hanging out there lately. Finally Hiroko sent a picture with a tags. It was KG89 Huaka'i.
Team R&B finally made it to the site, just after Hiroko had to leave. Team R&B got to see that big beautiful seal on shore by the showers, Miss Huakao KG89.  One wonders if she will remain on Oahu to give birth..... only Huakai knows.
