Team R&B's first find today was an unfortunate find, a large dead turtle on shore. It had scratches on its shell and partially eaten on right. Must have been a shark. They texted the hotline with the information.
While on site they saw a seal galumphing in a pond, hauling up. It was Kala RH76, who seemed to be on edge or alert to something.
Then they spotted Nalu R3CX foraging and going out as if he waschasing another seal. The saw another seal with red tags but couldn't keep eyes on it for long. They headed out shortly after.
Over at Makaha they found little RU12 sleeping alone on shore. Of course they were happy to find her safe and sound. They have a feeling she was the small seal with RM31 yesterday.
They also got to watch the dolphins for a bit, as always doing what they do best. Having fun!
They spotted a big seal hauling up on shore at electric beach. Of course the seal hauled up where there were people on shore. They ID'd RL12 Aukai.
And then they were wowed by the whales passing by. No breaches, but very cool. Instead of lions tigers and bears it was a dolphins, whales and seals kind of day!
Meanwhile over at the outfall there were a couple of seals foraging in the area. They saw RH48 Lei Ola RH48 heading into the outfall and all the fishers were out. They also saw and ID'd RM31 foraging.
They saw RH32 Kaale hauled up on the rocks at Kahe. They felt he was most likely at the outfall foraging had his fill and landed.
Lastly they headed back to check on RH76 Kala and she was still there well hidden. But now there was a small seal they had seen in the water earlier in the day. There she was on the rocks snoring away little RU04.
