Tammy went to visit Right Spot R016 and PO9. When she arrived PO9 was nursing. After the pup finished, Mom and PO9 went for some water time in the shallows. Little PO9 is very active, managed to swim a little ways from Mom. But as soon as mom called PO9 came back. Guess this happened a couple of times. Nice to see Right Spot with a pup!
Team R&B started at the outfall where they first saw RL20 Kaluaalone foraging. They witnessed him trying to steal two akule from the fishers. But this time the fishers won their catch. I guess he wasn't happy with them and stared them down.
Few minutes later they spotted Kaale RH32 arriving into the outfall. He has a different approach to hunting for fish. He leaves the outfall to go further out to another school of akule and comes back in. There was a time when I heard the fishers referred to him as the bus driver, as he would drive the fish back into the outfall.
Everything changed when the akule boat showed up just off the jetty. As soon as the boat arrived. Kaale went towards the boat. Soon RL20 joined in the dangerous fun of taking fish from the nets. The two seals started fighting, as there was a lot of splashing. That's when Team R&B saw a third seal with an applied bleach number. It was RG28 Lefty.
Around 10:25 the net was removed and the boat left. Kaale and Kalua remained foraging for the scraps left behind. That is when Team R&B left the site.
At a nearby location they were shocked to find KG54 Huaka'i justlanded on the rocks. Possibly she might have been near the nets, and maybe the fight wasn't about food but competing for a female. KG54 is looking quite large, time will tell if its from good eating, or something else.
At another west side location they found another seal. Up in high rocks was RP30 Puka. He was alone and resting comfortably.
