08/08/2022 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island today and there were at least four possibly five seals.
S/F: subadult to adult size, new coat, light gray female belly and two red tags.
A/M 1: adult to subadult size, older coat, yellowish tan male belly and two red tags.
A/M 2: adult size, darker male belly.
AM 1 and 2 got into a spat with lots of pushing and shoving and mouths open. AM1 rolled into the water and left, AM2 soon followed.
Finally RQ44 Mahina (formerly PO7) hauled out. She made her way over rubble rocks between 1BS & 2BS. Her N1 applied bleach and tags were exposed.

On Marilyn's ride home she made a quick stop and saw a seal in a SRA. It was RK36 (Kauai Kolohe).
He was ID'd as RK36 by his C scar behind his RFF, his male belly, no visible tags and a hard to see CC scar on his dorsal side.

Team R&B got to the outfall before light. Finally when the sun came up they were able to ID the seal foraging. It was RL20 Kalua (honestly it was going to be him or Kaale lol ).
He was busy going by the jetty and once and a while pop out. He would not haul out so they gave up and left.

Off to their next stop they saw a seal snoozing on the rocks. It was RM31 Kai alone and resting peacefully.  There was a lady who was walking a dog that let Team R&B there were some sea lions out there. hmmmmmm  unfortunately they only found one Hawaiian Monk seal.

At another location they were treated to the dolphins playing.
