08/01/2022 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕  In yesterday's news Melody sent a video of photos from her time with Birthday girl Rocky and PO8.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:15 to 2:00 and there were five seen on island today.
In the middle of LPB was RK37 Hui'a: subadult size, new coat, lighter female belly, two red tags and NB on her lower left side. At 12:21 it looked like weaner PO7 Mahina might haul out to RK37 but she went back in the water. At 1:27 an U/A did haul out and joined RK37.
U/A: adult size, older darker brown coat, unknown sex or tags. The U/A was gone when Marilyn made her next check on them.
PO7 Mahina ultimately hauled out on the 1BS side of LPB about 1:40. You could clearly see the tag on her LRF and her applied N1 bleach.
Weaner RQ76 Malama was hauled out on the beach in the Middle Cliff area when Marilyn first arrived. This is the same beach NOAA landed when they went to RI to tag her in July. This is the furthest Makapuu direction she has been since Marilyn's observations. She later moved further up the beach and snoozed.
An unknown female was mostly hidden behind the waterfront rocks on the 3BS side of Middle Cliff. The U/F appears to be: subadult size, recently molted, light gray female belly and probably two red tags.

Team R&B's first seal after many hours of searching was at a west side location. They found RL20 Kalua with a small hook imbedded in his chest area. He was just fine and the hook is small an non life threatening. This might be like his 14th hook, the little buggah.
Then they spotted a little green machine to the right. It was RP30 Puka slumped over the rocks. He was alone and snoozing the day away.

Next stop they found another little guy. It was RM31 Kai, alone taking a peaceful snooze.

Lastly they were scanning the shores and saw a seal haul up, looking around. They were about to head over to see who it was but the seal left the area. Team R&B tried going up and down the coast, but they did not see it again, so it was reported as a unknown adult.
On their travels they watched the dolphins leaping and got a couple of good shots.
They also came across a bull, he mooed and all the others were on alert. Guess he was the bull boss.
