Team Billand was out at the Outfall this morning and was mesmerized by the waves and surfers. Then one of the fishermen brought their attention to a seal. There they see "fatso" swimming about, coming close to the rocks with his eye closed in no hurry. After about 15 minutes Ka'ale RH32 left the outfall.
A little later he landed on the rocks at a nearby beach, snoozing his little fat heart away. He had enough space to sleep without getting washed off by the waves.
Team Billand's next stop was at the Plains, where they see signs posted. They saw volunteer Christina and Melody. The lifeguards had put the ropes around the seal who turned out to be Buster V08. Team Billand didn't stay long and there plenty of people there to look after Buster Boy.
Team Billand headed over to KoOlina in the early morning and there they found the waves were almost to the footpath. Then they spotted a good size squid and found at least 5 more. Perhaps the big waves brought them in. They collected them and passed them onto their good fisherman friend who was a happy camper.
They headed to a west side beach when they observed a seal getting slammed by the large waves on the rocks. The seal just was able to stay in place. Once the water action settled the seal went back to sleep. They were able to ID RIP RR70.
Then to their surprise they spotted a little seal on the shore. It was RH92 the little female from Kauai. She was moving about and flipped enough to see her tags to confirm She's small but looking fine and a little cutie.
Lastly Team Billand was able to witness an amazing experience that some young female didn't see coming. Young surfer out on the water not paying attention to what was approaching. She was on her board and suddenly a pod of dolphins came right by her. Talk about a lifetime experience, lucky girl.
