HMMA Update from July 26th

At 0635 A report came in about a seal at Waikomo's. The seal was ID'ed as Pohaku (RO28). Debbie responded and set up signs. At 0647 Marilyn checked in from Alan Davis with a report of Kawena (PO4) alone at the pup site. Marilyn informed that on her 1720 check on 7/25/16 Kaiwi (RK96) departed and did not return. Marilyn checked the site in the morning and there was no sign of Kaiwi which means Kawena is a weaner!

 Carola checked in from Mokuleia via email reporting Ka'ale got vaccinated and tagged by the Science Center Team. Ka'ale is now permanent ID RH32 is now tagged H32/H33. After getting his new tags, Ka'ale moved down towards the water and went back to sleep. Ka'ale went for a swim before Carola's shift ended at 1300.

 Karen checked in from the Turtle Bay pup site reporting Ua Maile (RT10) and PO5 sleeping in the shallows most of the shift. Pup eventually moved up the beach and mom remained in the water. Karen departed at 1500.

 Anissa checked in from the Alan Davis pup site reporting Kawena was in the tide pool in the center of the SPZ for most of the shift. Kawena hauled out onto the beach moving up towards the greenery and played with the leaves and a stick. Kawena remained sleeping high on beach at the end of Anissa shift at 1920.
