They checked out RI of course, but the highlight of their day came when they stopped by the Hawaii Undersea Research Lab (HURL) at the pier, and met the one and only Terry Kerby (of Kerby ,RW08 fame) ,Chief Pilot of UH subs. Actually, he is not the one and only. There is also is wife, Terri Kerby !
At 1300 I found Kolohe (RW22) once again snoozin’ at his Lanai Lookout Flats hangout.
Marilyn & Lesley trod to the End of the World, with stop offs to visit Nihoa&PO3 going in and coming out. Marilyn wins the turkey for today with a total of 12 seals ! At the point they found RIP (RR70), Luana (RN58), RL42, Ka’ena (RO40)&Squinty (R330). Ka’ena has apparently thrown his hook on his own. Thank you Ka’ena ! On the way out visit to the Mokuleia site they encountered what would prove to be RK36 & Benny (RE74) east of the SPZ. Benny would enter the water and swam to off shore of the zone where he met Nihoa and pup in the water. Nihoa made it abundantly clear that he was not welcome there, and he got the hint.
She stopped off visit Kolohe at Lanai Lookout on the way home, an then headed off to the 4-7 at AD.
