At 0745 I found a 50% molted Aukai (RL12) at Seal Rock Inlet, Rabbit Island. She would enter the water for brunch at 0845, and when she hauled out again the to same location at 1029 she was 85% molted.
At 0840 I found RG32 just hauling out of Seal Rock Inlet. He would remain all day.
On a pan at 0841 I found Kala (RH76) just sliding into her favorite tide pool out on the left end rock flats. She remained invisible the rest of the day.
At 0950 I found what would later prove to be Kea (RN46) just moving up into view from behind the water front rocks of Rocky Right Beach, on RI. His last sighting was at the same location on 7-1-16. Welcome home kid !!
At 1253 I found Kolohe (RW22), once again on the left side flats at Lanai Lookout.
Posse member Tammy T., reported RI37 at Right Spot’s Spot, Turtle Bay.
The grape vine is abuzz with news. Hopefully, HMMA will respond with an answer.
In response to a question on da’ blog this morning, from Melina, the male pup at Mokuleia has been officially named Ka’ale, which means open ocean swell. Hopefully he will use such in his future travels. Aleu’i Lyman who lives nearby was the first one to find the new pup, and provided the name, which was okayed by HMMA.
