Not only would Kainoa (RN04) be the only Rabbit Island critter, he was also the only SE quadrant animal for today.
At 0744 Team Billand reported Kermit (R012) at Wind Sock.
Cianna called at 0920 reporting animals at Hauula, and at Shark's Cove. Dana would call at 1105 to advise that volunteers had confirmed R5AY in Hauula, and Right Spot (R016) at Shark's Cove.
Cianna would check in again at 0932 with the report of "N14" at Laniakea. That would be KC (RK28) .
At 1004 Team Billand reported Irma (R010) in the no man's land between Hau Bush and White Plains (closer to Hau Bush). As they were watching her, Buster swam by, and even did a quick look, but had no clue that Irma was there. He was heading in a west direction. Barbara would walk the beach all the way from Hau Bush to Wind Sock (I ache just typing it), where Buster (RV08) hauled out to join Kermit at 1110. They would report his departure at 1226 , headed back to the east. The Irma Quest continues.
At 1038 Ocean Safety called with the report of an animal hauling out to Yoke's. Since the Billands were up to their lips in critters, Marilyn & Lesley, on their way back from the end of the world, confirmed the Benny (RE74) ID.
Ain't no doubt about it the highlight of the day came at 1046 with a call from Dana, reporting that Kauai folk had just reported Pohaku (RO28) pupping at N. Larson's Beach, on Kauai. They were just going to get the fencing etc. Whew !!!!!!! Thank Youuuuu Pohaku !!!!!
The M&L Expedition checked in at 1205. Marilyn advise that on arrival, at 1015, they had found what I believe to be RIP (RR70) at the main pool, and later on their 2nd look had found Ka'ena (RO40) more to the right, at Ka'ena's Pool. The RIP ID was difficult. I based it solely on a small scar on his ventral side back near his hind flippers.
Today he is a man ! Kolohe (RW22) turned 5 today!!

Thank you Laurie and Allan for the help at Windsock...you guys are awesome!!! And you guys are so appreciated.
Love the captions! YW, Barbara. It was fun. My husband and 2 of my boys got to meet Kermit last night after dinner. We stayed until a little after 7 and he was still deep in seal sleep when we left. I hope he wasn't bothered while he was left alone.
OOPS, I dont know what I did wrong, but the entire note disappeared.
Lets do this right...
Kermit was still there this morning, but left just before we arrived.
And then, The Fat Boy returned at 9:40am. We stayed with him till 11:13am, left, and I hope Jean watched out for him.
We went back and he was still there, left at 4:31pm with the rising tide.
So much people out there today, with five dogs...footballs, fishing poles etc.
Cool you and your entire family met with Kermit...he is a really cool seal that we love with our souls.
HOPE YOUR MOTHERS DAY WAS A SPECIAL ONE...
