12-6-2012 DB's Dailies:

At 0724 I found Kaiwi (RK96) snoozin' at the base of the cliff at Rocky Right Beach. When I got back to Makai Pier at 1000 she had relocated to 1BS on RI.

At 0813 , at Spitting Cave, I found Buster (RV08) doing 7 minute dives. His N21 bleach is now impossible to see because of algae on his old coat. The ID was made by small secondary scars, and his 2 red tags. He disappeared at 0830. Despite many a mile looking, I did not see him again today.

When I got back to MP at 1000 I found a partially visible M38 at Rocky Right Beach. His D#12 molt is 90%. He would remain at that location all day.

The highlight of the day came at 1024 when a small, new coated, 2 red tagged male hauled out to join Kaiwi fronting 1BS on Rabbit Island. They frolicked and played on the beach, and with Kaiwi leading the way, went for a water play session from 1100 until 1140, when they hauled out again to their starting point, and snoozed away the rest of the day together. There is zero doubt in my mind that this guy was Kekoa (RK72), but there is no way I can prove it, since at this distance Kekoa has no identifiable markers. He was at Spitting Cave yesterday, and I fully expected him to show up at RI today. The office will require an U/M ID. For short , fat , bald guys its a no brainer.......... DUH ????

Dera called at 0812 with the report of an animal at Vland. Photos received are inconclusive.

Zeeny called at 0834 from the end of the world, to report that the Ka'ena Point cast she found included Benny (RE74) high on the beach at the Naupaka, Noa (R6FI) and Kerby (RW08) together in the water, and RL42 and RK36 together on some rocks in a pond. She reported that RIP (RR70) joined the group at 1430, and that Benny departed at 1500.
Team Billand checked in at 0927 with the report of M&M (R020) at Tower#2, White Plains.
At 0955 they found Kermit (R012) at Kermit's Reef.

Pohaku (RO28) was their next find, at Guard Rails Beach, Maili.

At 1326 the Billands reported 2AW at Tracks.

Teri called at 1259 to report that her R5AY search had produced no R5AY, but once again she found RL54 cruzin' under her favorite Ironwood tree at Turtle Bay. Lesley and Diga are out there this afternoon on the R5 Quest. I eagerly await their report.

At 1558 Team Billand called to advise that Clay Gates had reported T21M at Iroquois Point. He was just out here with me in the SE Quadrant on Monday and Tuesday. The ol' dude gets around.
