Thanks to Lifeguards, Andrea and Karen Banes for trying to keep a space FREE for our poor monk seal...Makaiwi.

She came up wee ours of morn, found what she thought was a SAFE SPOT at the life guard stand..but the space became a nightmare for her as the sun rose...HUMANS..EVERYWHERE. SCREAMING. RUNNING. BOOGIE BOARDS...BAH!!! She gave in by 2:45pm.

Irma also left her peaceful spot on the reef at Windsock...3:30pm.

Kermit over nighted again on day #5and Poor Benny arrived in the perimeter with KERMIT, with blood at his chest area. It was streaming down his chest, we observed Benny as soon as we noticed the blood. We could not tell what the heck caused the injury...we even got expert advice from a cabin EX NAVY SEAL vacationing. He offered to go in the water, check out the wound from a far. He drew what he saw for us in the sand, and thought, it could be a cookie. But it was really hard to tell what it really was. The blood stopped, Benny stayed on shore with Kermit all day and beyond. He seemed ok.

Nice to spot Kerby on the rocks in a small pond...he was in peace, all alone.

And the last seal..the old dude..2AW spotted on shore at Tracks. Seemed he had been there from last night, his tracks way up shore at the grass, then all the way down to waters edge. I am so happy he found peace here. Seals...they sure have to look for a place, NO HUMANS can bother them. Getting to be so hard for them...Humans take over all their many spots these days.

Our day ended at 6:30pm, tired, frustrated with those folks, WHO CANT GIVE A SEAL...A COMFORTABLE SPOT to rest. COme on people...we can all share the beach...B
