6-27-2012 DB's Dailies

At 0626 I found M&M (R020)& Pup (D#15), as usual at Rocky Right Beach on Rabbit Island. They were a tad more visible when the midday high tide drove them up, but for the most part is was the same partially visible problem.

At 0639 I found RIP (RR70) newly arrived at the far left end of the beach.

On the 0737 Spitting Cave check I found Buster (RV08) for just a couple of brief ups. He appeared to be in travel mode.

At 0801 Kaiwi suddenly showed up at SC, surfacing first on the right side of the big rock, and then a few times at the ladder. At 0837 another animal (probably Buster but it can't be proven) began interacting with her and basically chased her around the point. Neither were seen again during my stay.

At 0957 posse member Zeeny called to report Kaiwi (RK96) at Lanai Lookout.

Posse member Kathy called at 1000 to report that Buster was once again at Spitting Cave. At 1123 he moved further into the bay. Kathy departed at 1200.

At 1150 posse member Gayle called to report an animal at the Kokee Flats. When I arrived at 1213 I found Irma (R010) approximately 100 yds left of the access path.

After leaving Irma I did another SC check at 1257, and there was Buster doing 8 to 14 minute dives.

A call from posse member Linda at 1645 to advise that she had seen Buster on 2 separate occasions through the day, briefly hauling out to Irma's Grotto, and then departing to continue his Irma Quest. The dummy never had a clue that she was a couple of hundred yards further down the flats.

Team Billand had another no critter day. They did respond to a Dera call about 2 animals at yesterday's Makaha haul out, however there was no one there when they arrived.

Sharkbite's (T15M) ceremony is at 1800 at White Plains. Hopefully, Team Billand will have the story and photos.
