NOAA's Birth Prediction schedule showed today , as
M&M's (R020) due date. While that wasn't quite right, she nevertheless
showed up at Rabbit Island, fronting 3BS this morning. I found her humongousness
waiting for me at 0604. It would be 1103 before she finally allowed me to see
her right side, upside down N23 bleach, but show me she did. She remained all
day, and was the one and only RI resident today. The photos are crap but I
assure you it was M&M.
Marilyn and I did a 1700 RI
recon, and M&M was still at 3BS, and still alone.
At 0836 posse member Linda
called with the report of two animals swimming & foraging off shore of
Irma's Grotto, Kokee Flats, Portlock. At 0846 she would confirm the N21 bleach
on Buster (RV08).
At 0917 posse member Gayle
confirmed the N3 bleach on Irma (R010). Both would haul out to the Grotto. The
high tide drove them off the rocks at 1441.
Gayle called at 1730 to
advise that Irma and Buster were together at Spitting Cave.
At 1045 Gayle called again
with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) at Lanai Lookout.
Many, many, many thanks to
Gayle, Kathy & June for being on it today. My back started talkin' to me
this morning, and when backs talk, you listen. Thanks guys ... Ya' Done Good

At 0943 they found Benny
