February 27, 2026 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:15 to 2:22 pm and there initially three seals, with a fourth arriving later.
About 30 feet Makappu of the 1BS was an Adult Male: adult size, mottled gray male belly, at least one red tag.
Down from 3BS was a Sub-adult Female: small sub-adult size, light female belly, no info on tags.
At 1:58 pm, Marilyn noticed a Juvenile Unknown had joined the S/F. The J/U was juvenile size, at least one red tag, no info on sex because she never saw the ventral.
On  the rock flats next to the SRI channel was an Adult Female: large adult size, gray female belly, no info on tags, scar on lower neck/upper chest. Marilyn suspects based on her chubby size she may be pregnant.
Today is the first day she has seen multiple Masked Boobies. She saw two adult pairs, one solo adult and two juveniles.

Team R&B did their usual searches in the area at pokai. They noticed there were some seals foraging on the rest camp side. Then a fight broke out between the seals, so they figured it was a couple of males. Then they disappeared. Eventually one seal came hauling it, they ID'd RL20.
A fisher saw Team R&B and pointed out a seal to them. They were surprised to see this huge female Miss Kala RH76.
They waited around to see if another male would haul in. Plus there were some people with little kids going down to the seals. Team R&B did their best to tell them to stay away.
Then Team R&B saw the third seal: R3CX Nalu, the boy is back in the area, most likely check out Kala. He hauled up and went to sleep, but kept looking at the lovely, fat female, Kala.

They headed west to look for their little seal. They were thrilled finding him when they arrive, there was N45 aka Temp 402 Na'au. There were some signs up, but Team R&B added more. One woman decided to take down the sign while her husband took her photo geesh!  Team R&B met a professional photographer and talked story about N45.
All the people left and Team R&B were alone with the little guy, he looks better but still needs to put on some weight. He never left his spot, even when the waves slammed him, he just stayed.

Team R&B left to the area and head out to check other areas. They spotted a seal from afar at electric beach. It was an adult resting alone. They are not sure about tags or any other markers. They did see a dog off leash playing ball.

Then they spotted another seal snoozing with some women close by. The seal has a ding on mid-back and another cc on its butt area. This could be R407, but they reported him as an Unknown Adult.

They ended their day seeing three pods of whales and one pod had five whales. Very exciting!
