Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:59 am to 2:07 pm and there were three seals when she first arrived.. Then three more seals arrived at different times later.
Initially about 70 feet Makapuu of the 3BS were two seals:
Juvenile Male: larger juvenile size, older coat, yellow male belly and two red tags
Adult Male: adult size, medium gray male belly and two red tags. There may be a scar on the lower lip, and some sort of dark patch near his nasal opening. This might be RK24 Bruno, but Marilyn did not see the N33 applied bleach or the scar on his right side.
At 1:14 pm, a Sub-adult Female joined the two seals. The SF was sub-adult size, light female belly, two red tags.
Then at 1:43 pm, Juvenile Female 1: joined thee three seals. The JF1 was juvenile size, yellowish-brown female belly, two red tags.
Initially alone near the SRI channel was a Sub-adult Male: small sub-adult size, light gray male belly, two red tags.
At 1:25 pm Juvenile Female 2: hauled out near the SM. Then she moved up and away from the SM. JF2 was juvenile size, older coat and yellowish-brown female belly with some green no into on tags.
Team R&B did an early search but came up empty at all the usual spots. They were so disappointed as they really wanted to find N45 aka Temp 402.
Life guard said there was a little seal on shore at 8am but people came by and got to close and the seal left. Team R&B took some time to enjoy watching the surfers.
Next they saw from a far a seal resting at electric beach. It was fine until folks got to it and it left.
Then they saw another seal an Adult Male. He was to the right but he also left
Then another seal hauled out and folks started to gather again. But this time, Team R&B could see a lifeguard going over and telling people get back from the seal.
If that wasn't enough stress, they could see a couple of seals foraging. However the Akule Boat was laying net near the area and the two seals were stealing fish. One had two red tags the other had a ding on its head.
They went back to the west side for last check for N45. When they arrived they spotted a seal and walked over. It was not N45 but it was RS32, she is looking big and green.
They walked back and took a minute before giving up and TaDa!! There's a little seal close to the rocks resting. A kid passes the seal and the seal leaped to bit at the kid. That's when they realized it was N45.
They were happy to find the him, and now they could call it a day.
