( thank you for all the well wishes...... basically I had a very large splinter from a vine that had tiny little burrs. This required a trip to urgent care and lots of novocaine. Good news splinter is gone, no pain and just have to make sure it doesn't get infected.... now back to the blog π)
Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:55 to 1:20 and there were five seals on island during that time.
Four seals were lined up from 1BS to about a 1/3 of the way to the 2BS:
Adult Female: adult size, newer coat, light gray female belly and two red tags.
Adult Male 1 : large adult size, old dark coat, dark brown male belly and unsure about tags.
RK24 Bruno/Wawamalu: small adult size, new coat, light to medium gray male belly, two red tags and lower left lip scar.
Adult Male 2 : adult size, old coat with golden brown male belly and two red tags.
Alone between 3BS and SRI was the same Subadult Male: subadult size, old coat, golden male belly with some green and two red tags. This is the S/M Marilyn had been seeing lately.
Team R&B started their day at the bay, and they were thrilled to see RH76 Kala. She is back on her rocks looking chubby and healthy. As they observed her, she seemed cautious by looking around.
This alerted Team R&B to look around... AHA! There was another seal foraging off the rocks doing five minute dives. It was RG28 Lefty, unfortunately he didn't land while they were there. (probably hauled out when they left... the bugga)
They stopped at Kahe and had a variety of species to enjoy. Of course the dolphins! There was pod playing way out.
They spotted a cute turtle in the outfall. One of the fishermen caught a papio, which had an interesting lure.
And then there was RG32 up on the rocks alone. Tada !
