10/21/2010 DB Dailies

On my first look at Rabbit Island at 0630 , I found Kolohe up in the grass behind Seal Rock Inlet (SRI). When I got back to Makai Pier at 0900, I found that he had moved down to cool off nearer the water line. At 1056 Duke hauled out to SRI, and Kolohe galumphed over to meet him. The both entered the water at 1114 for a swim/ play session and hauled out together at the middle of the Middle Cliff area, where they remained for the rest of the day.

On my 0702 , Spitting Cave check I found Buster for the 3rd consecutive day, doing 10 minute dives.

I recieved morning email from Diane Gabriel saying that she'd spoken with Dr. Charles last night, and he had advised that his magic machine said that Ua Malie was in the Hauula area, but appeared to be heading back toward Kahuku. Dera called at 0900 this morning to say that Charles had reported that today Ua Malie was back in the Kahuku/Turtle Bay area. Evening email from Diane Gabriel confirmed that Ua Malie was , in fact, back home. Diane found her Fishermen's Point, TB.

Team Billand was batting zero today, including finding Irma gone from her Ewa Beach, molting spot. At 1359 they got a call from WP lifeguard boss, Marvin, saying that an animal was just hauling out at White Plains. When the Billands arrived at 1417 they found a 50% molted Irma near the east end fence line.

The Billands called at 1441 with the report of 4DJ, again at Iroquois Point.

I recieved Dera email with a shot, courtesy, Cheryl King, of Makaiwi on Kahoolawe on 10-17-10. As of the Charles map in this morning's blog, she appear to now be on the Big Island.
