DB's Dailies: Aukai,Kekoa,Cass&Kala@Rabbit Island, Kawena@AD, Ka'ale@Mokuleia, Ka'ena@Ka'ena Point, Holokai,UaMalie&PO5@Turtle Bay, RIP&Nihoa@Ka'ena Point, RL42@Makua Cliffs, Pohaku@Lani's&PC,

A mostly misty rain day made Rabbit Island observations a challenge but the job still got done. At 0744 I found what would prove to be Aukai (RL12) at the left end of the beach. She would be joined by Kekoa (RK72) at 1015. Both would remain there all day.

At 1123 Kala (RH76) hauled up out of Seal Rock Inlet. At 1157 a 50% molted Cass (RG06) hauled out 80 ft right of 3BS. She moved up into the Morning Glory, and snoozed away the day.

Marilyn & Lesley did the End of the World trek today, for the first time in a while. They stopped off to see Ka’ale (RH32) at Mokuleia before heading in.

That was to be their only find. The found nobody at Ka’ena Point, but did have a brief “drive by” by an unknown animal ,that never stopped or hauled out. When Marilyn got home we checked her shots, and lo & behold the “drive by” animal proved to be Ka’ena (RO40), by his N9 bleach, and CC scar.

At 1100 Team Billand called with the report of RIP (RR70)& Nihoa(R912) for the first time since weaning, at the 20 minute mark on the Waianae side KP trail.

At 1213 the Billands found RL42 at Makua Cliffs.

At 1431 the Billands found Pohaku (RO28) at Lani’s. She would depart at 1511, and attempt to haul out at Paradise Cove but was run off at 1538.
