2-19-2013 DB's Dailies: Kolohe@RI, Rocky@OCC, Makaiwi@NIM, Kermit@KR, Benny&Noa@Maili Pt, R5AY@MCBH, RI37@Hauula

I was havin' a skunkish kinda' day in the SE quadrant, until Kolohe (RW22) took pity on me and hauled out to Rocky Right Beach, at 1438. The day had involved 55 miles on the road, and the trudging through the derelict invested Beach Parks and coastline on the R5AY Quest, or anybody else for that matter. Kolohe was my only find.

At 1613 I got email from Todd Russell, at MCBH with photo, stating that T21M had been on the beach at the base today, and lookin' really skinny.(T21M had been the last molting critter he'd seen there so he just assumed) When I opened the photo, it was in fact R5AY !!

On a related note, Donna asked the question in yesterday's blog as to whether R5AY had ever been in the Makai Pier area before. I added a comment to da' blog, but in case you missed it, the answer was Yes ! R5AY had in fact been in my neighborhood before. I found her at Kaupo Beach Park on 5-9-04. She had not been back since, until yesterday. Thank you DB for the response... SO almost 9 years ago... that's a mighty long time. I thought for sure she was going to hang out with "papa" for her molt. Wherever she ends up I hope it's someplace safe and someone can check in on her.

At 0853 Colleen advised that Rocky (RH58) had overnighted at the Outrigger Canoe Club.
Team Billand checked in at 0811 with the report of Makaiwi (R4DF) fronting #1811, Nimitz Cottages.

At 0900 they found Kermit (R012) at Kermit's Reef, on the west side of the Nimitz jetty.
The Billand's next call came at 1402 with the report of Benny (RE74) and Noa (R6FI) together at Maili Point.

A 1718 call from Dera brought word that Tatiana had confirmed the RI37 ID in Hauula. She remained at yesterday's location, and had apparently been reported at 1000.

R5AY posing for her cover shot :-)
 Kermit bellowing !
Hey where is everyone?
This the only kind of seal ( a sandy castle seal) that any dog should get this close to.
 Pretty girl Maka'iwi
Benny and Noa - you know what that means
There it is... Benny is here and there is barking back and forth
Benny - this pose reminds me of a paper mache sculpture a student for Colorado sent to us. Very cool !!!
