At 0720 , from Makai Research Pier I found what would prove to be Nani (RK60) tucked in at the base of the cliff, at Rocky Right Beach, Rabbit Island. At 0907 she began moving down, and by 0914 I'd lost sight of her behind the water front rocks. Fortunately, I got a partial glimpse of her when I returned at 1330. Enough so that I knew she was still there. She was the only RI resident for today.
At 0720 Team Billand reported Pohaku (RO28) once again at Paradise Cove.
At 0827 they found Makaiwi (R4DF) fronting #1706, White Plains. She would be joined by M&M (R020) at noon, and by Kermit (R012) at 1400. Makaiwi would depart at 1730. The others remain.
At 1108 Dana called with the report of RI37 at Hauula Beach Park.
At 1159 Dana called again with the report of an animal at the Hale Koa, in Waikik (Gee....I wonder who that could be ?). At 1436 Dana confirmed the Rocky (RH58) ID. Colleen reported Rocky's departure, and I quote "She delighted the huge crowd with a big snort and a poop in the shorebreak...Stinky ! Thats Rocky... always showin' off.
At 1233 Team Billand reported Kerby (RW08), once again at Maili Pt. Zeeny checked in at 1739 to advise that though he hadn't been there at 1400, she had just found Noa (R6FI) with Kerby, and both were departing.
I happened on to a piece of YouTube footage in the wee hours this morning, showing Kaiwi at a popular dive spot called Sea Cave, between Spitting Cave and Hanauma Bay. The ID was made by her clearly visible natural bleach on her RHF. There is a sizeable air pocket at the top of the cave, which allows her to breathe.
