At 0624 I found M&M
(R020)&Pup (D#31) At Rocky Right Beach, on Rabbit Island. Subsequent checks
in the afternoon allowed at least a partial view of the pup's belly, and it is
definitely beginning to take on the white coloring. The kid is also very chunky.
Given the location and limitations of viewing it may take until tagging to get a
sex on this pup, but at least the belly has lightened enough to allow the
possibility . When I know...You'll know.
At 0903 Kolohe (RW22) hauled
out 80 ft left of 1BS on Rabbit Island. He would remain the rest of the
day.
Despite
lots of lookin' by the posse, no other critters were found in the SE quadrant ,
and there were no reported from any other quadrant until..... Colleen Heyer
called at 1832 to advise that her pal Rachel had been walking her dog , Pono,
when Rocky (RH58) hauled out right in front of them at the showers at Diamond
Head. Pleeeease Rocky... pleeeease stay at Colleen's house. You already know she
has a great backyard, pleeeeease !!!
Boy things sure been quiet here on Oahu.... Seems like everyone left town.
M&M and Pup... no clue if we have a boy or girl
Kolohe hanging out peacefully
Rocky's home... sweet home at Colleen's
NOW stay there!!!

I wonder if the low seal count has something to do with RIMPAC. Diane
From what I understand, Rimpac exercises will continue until August 3rd. It might be quite interesting to keep tabs on the seal haul-out numbers- on all islands.
