7-29-2012 DB's Dailies: Aukai@RI, Buster&Kaiwi@SC, Irma@DH, RO28@Banyan, Ewa Girl, Kekoa&UU@RR, Ua Malie@TB

Wind and rain made observations challenging today. Only damned fools and Monk Seals would have been out this morning. My fellow damned fools and I, along with Buster (RV08) and Kaiwi (RK96) spent the morning at Spitting Cave. Buster and Kaiwi were playing together at the ladder when I arrived at 0715. Kaiwi would move around the point and disappear at 0739. Buster would remain, doing 7 minute dives.

I got to Makai Pier for my round #2 check , at 0900, finding that RI was almost impossible to see, most of the time. On a pan at 0927, Aukai was suddenly visible above the water front rocks at Rocky Right Beach. She would move down and out of sight at 1202.

Team Billand checked in at 0721 to advise that Pohaku (RO28) for her 4th consecutive day at Banyan Tree Beach, KoOlina.

Rachel Frank (ably filling in for the vacationing Colleen) called to report an animal to the right of the showers at Diamond Head. Her photos confirm the Irma (R010) ID. Chances are good that she is headed back to the SE quadrant, but only Irma knows. Missus Whisperer stopped by late in the day, and confirmed the Irma ID, by the 1st white nail on the left fore flipper.

Dera called at 1354 with news that Eileen had called this morning to report Ewa Girl (RS00) and an U/U, with red tags, together at the Reef Runway (I'll put a cat on T21M, but ????). On her afternoon recheck Eileen reported that EG an friend were gone, however, Kekoa (RK72) was now there.

Dana called at 1447 to advise that Karen Turner got the best Birthday present she could hope for , finding Ua Malie (RT10) at the Keiki Pool, Turtle Bay.

Dera called at 1825 with the report of RI37 being seen between Chun's and Laniakea with a 2 in. hook and line in her chest. Dera is awaiting photos. Photos included below.
