12-29-11 DB's Dailies Kolohe&Buster@RI, Kermit@WP, Irma@WSK, R028@Elec.Bch, Rocky@IRQ

The Kaiwi Kuest actually began before I hit the road this morning. I got mail from Team Billand which included a transmitter map Charles had sent them, showing the whereabouts of both Kekoa and Kaiwi yesterday. To my complete shock it showed that both of them appeared to be at the west end of the Reef Runway, basically at the entrance to Pearl Harbor. You've gone a long way baby !!!! She was a no show today here in the SE quadrant. Whats next ? Only Kaiwi knows.

At 0744 on my first look at Rabbit Island I found Kolohe (RW22) just hauling out, 40 ft left of 1BS. He would move up and into the Morning Glory, lookin' for his gang, but nobody was home. He went to snooze mode. He would later move down to cool off.

On a pan at 0748 I found Buster (RV08) in the vegetation, behind Seal Rock Inlet. He too would later move down to cool off. His D#5 molt is still 3%.

Team Billand checked in at 0644 with the report of Kermit (R012) fronting #1708, White Plains.
At 0732 they found Irma (R010) at Wind Sock.

At 0818 the Billands reported 2AW at Nimitz Cove, between the bunkers.
At 1028 the found Pohaku (RO28) at Electric Beach.

Posse member Clay Gates called the Billands at 1145 to advise that he had Rocky (RH58) at Iroquois Point.
Team Billand checked in at 1648 with the report of Benny (RE74) at Paradise Cove. Mid Luau , of course.
In the Yesterday's News department the Malaekahana animal yesterday was photo confirmed as R5AY.

I had also recieved email from posse member Dennis Kunkel advising of a possible La'akea sighting yesterday between Kahuku Point and High Rock.

The Magic Island animal of 12-26-11 was also photo confirmed as Rocky (RH58).

Thanks to Liz for fighting north shore traffic and all the surfers to get a late ID on R5AY. Seems she has been there quite a bit this past week, but this is the firstositive we could get on her. Still pretty skinny but sure looks better than she did a few weeks ago. Hope this Momma gets a year off, La'akea was a most demanding pup.

Thanks Liz! That traffic can be very exhausting but the view along the way is always so nice. The traffic isn't going to get any better out there. I'm glad you found R5AY and she does look so much better!
