A morning conversation with Dera indicated that the 0500 transmitter data showed Kaiwi still in the Maunalua Bay area. On my 5th check of Crappy Cove, Sandy Beach at 0940 I found Kaiwi (RK96) snoozin' on the water front rocks. She has remained all day. Gayle, Zeenie and myself tended to her. Kaiwi was still there when I departed at dark.
At 1040 I found Buster (RV08) 80 ft left of 1BS on Rabbit Island. He would be the only RI resident today.
Posse member Toni Russ called from Ewa Beach, reporting an animal near Ewa Beach Park, with what appeared to be twine around the hind flippers. Photos provided by Colin Perry, as well as on scene observations from Team Billand confirmed the ID as Irma (R010), and also confirmed that it was not twine, but tapeworms. ewwwwww
Team Billand found Kermit (R012) at Kermit's Reef, on the west side of the Nimitz Jetty at 0958.
At 1632 Dana advised of 2 animals at Makaha. Rachel & Brittany there, and the Billands also responded. The animals would prove to be RO28 at Beal's Pond, and Benny (RE74) at the Makaha Shores. Both animals had people problems, with people harrassing RO28, and Benny being run off by dogs. There are just toooooo many idiots amongst us.
Dera called at 1702 with the report of a sighting of RI37, near Crozier Dr., Mokuleia. Caller made the ID by tags.
