12-1-11 DB Dailies

It was a perfect Monk Seal day in the SE quadrant, cool, rainy, windy etc. It was not so perfect for a Monk Seal posse, but nevertheless there was the IMF crew. Morning email provided the only info available. As of 1500 last night Kaiwi was shown to be off shore of the AD area. Kekoa was still at the Reef Runway. We trod many a mile but nobody ever found Kaiwi or anybody else by end of day. No... thats not true. Zeenie did see da' duck at Kaiwi's nook. For the non-AD crowd, we've had a visiting Merganzer duck, blown in from the mainland for about a month now. The daily quest is as much about finding da' duck as finding Kaiwi.

The closest I came to making contact with a penniped was a call from posse members Gayle and Susan at Spitting Cave at 0937. They reported sighting an animal with 2 red tags, and a natural bleach on the right side near the shoulder. When I arrived at 0956 the animal was gone. Based on the description there is zero doubt in my mind that it was Kolohe (RW22), but ???????????

Team Billand had yet another bumper crop day. At 0725 they reported Irma (R010) fronting the Snack Bar, and Kermit (R4DG) fronting #1707, at White Plains. M&M (R020) would join the WP cast, near the east end perimeter fence , at 0958. Barbara advised that Irma departed at 1750 , and Kermit at 1756. M&M remains. At 1302 the Billands called to report Pohaku (RO28) , once again at Tracks.

At 1335 Dera called with the report of an animal at the Elk's Club, in Waikiki. Colleen was responding. Colleen checked in later to advise that it was Rocky (RH58). A bleaching mission was said to be underway, but I've recieved no further word as of this writing. Will Rocky be sporting a new N11 ????  Stayed tuned, right here. Live...Local...Connected... According the the Elk's Club manager, Rocky departed at 1751. No bleach boyz had been seen according to him.
