One Little Seal Loved By So Many

Aloha good people...
Our little seal received a special blessing today at the aquarium... Walter Ritte, Kahu David Ka'upu, a retired Kamehameha Schools chaplain, Molokai kumu hula Kanoe Davis and Kalaekahi, a Molokai youngster representing the community participated in the blessing . The Molokai elders have renamed him "ho 'ailona" — "a special seal with a special purpose."

KP...ooppss....HO'AILONA!!! You are so handsome and royal. You are the KING of seals. I dont think there is a soul on earth who doesnt appreciate your beauty, your amazing courage and endurance. Your strength is amazing. Funny the only one who didnt love you..was your MAMA. Shame on her..but, we got to have this incredible journey with you and boy are you teaching us all about a monk seals life. You are our treasure..and you cant even SEE!!! But you feel, you hear and you know, we all are so lucky to have you, sweet creature of the sea!!! Your journey continues, man will help you, since MAMA didnt. And one day soon you will see all of us who humans who care. Hang in there KP...excuse me, Ho' Ailona...Life is gonna get better for ya..cause we humans arent abandoning you, NEVER!!! SEE ya soon, Flipper hugs!!

OK. So does that mean we call him HO for short? Sorry, I like the translation for Ho'Ailona but he will always be KP2 to me. But, Barbara is right a royal name for a very special seal. That will be beautiful in lights when he comes back as a celebrity to the Islands.

I think the Molokai elders picked the perfect Hawaiian name but I will always think of him as Kutie Pie.
