September 11, 2026 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B๐Ÿ’•

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island  from 9:45 am to 12:15 pm and there were three seals seen during that time. A NOAA team went to the Island to tag PO13 and to take blood samples from PO13 and RV50.
The NOAA team located PO13 who was playing in the tide pools near the SRI channel. They scooped her up and moved her to the shore where she got her new bling V76/V77 (her mom is RH76 Kala). After she was tagged and blood sample drawn, she moved back into shallow water, but then hauled back out and moved in the direction of the
NOAA team. They said she was feisty. She kept an eye on the team, but did not leave again. Later she moved further in the Middle Cliff direction and seemed confused by a Noddy Tern that was nearby.
Marilyn saw Tracy taking photos on the RRB channel, which Marilyn knew there had to be a seal. Then weaner RV50 with applied bleach N81 came out of the channel and was very aware of the NOAA team. They captured her and drew a blood sample, When they released her, she scurried back to the RRB channel.
After the NOAA team started paddling back, Marilyn saw RP24 and RV50 had relocated to the RRB side of the SRI channel. RP24 Mohala; female belly, and small nb on her RFF with RV50. Soon RV50 disappeared and Marilyn called it a day.

On the west side Team R&B's first sighting were two seals. They were foraging in the same area as the snorkelers. They ID'd the green one as R3CX Nalu (no longer a mystery). The other seal was RK72 Kekoa ID'd by his size and the bumps on his left rear side.
They saw the green seal aka R3CX heading towards KoOlina. They
reached out to their friend to keep an eye out. As Team R&B were enroute they heard back the green seal was there. Unfortunately by the time they got to the site the seal was gone. So no confirmed ID.
All was not lost because near the rocks was the lovely Auakai, RL12. She was alone and snoozing. She looked peaceful and okay. They noted there were no signs up.
