August 14, 2026 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:20 to 2:20 pm and there were seven or eight seals seen during that time.
At 12:55 pm a Juvenile Female hauled out at the back Lanikai side of LPB: juvenile size, old coat  with lots of green, female belly and at least one red tag.
In the middle back of LPB was Weaner Unknown 1: weaner size, light yellow belly, unsure about sex, at least two red tags. At 1:55 pm theWU1 relocated next to the JF.
RH76 Kala and PO13 were in the middle of LPB for the entire time. PO13 is really chubby with a very light female belly.
An Adult Unknown hauled out of the LPB channel and at 12:27 pm moved up close to Kala and PO13. Kala vocalized several times at the AU. Ultimately the AU rolled down shore and into the water.
On the 3BS side of Middle Cliff was Weaner Unknown 2: weaner size, two tags, lighter ventral, unknown sex. At 12:52 pm an Adult Male joined the WU2. The AM has a lighter ventral than the AU had. Both WU2 and the AM went into snooze mode.
Out on the rock flats on the RRB side of the SRI channel was an adult female seal. Marilyn is reasonable sure this is RP24 Mohala, based on her NB on her LFF. She is adult size, new gray coat and two red tags.

Team R&B started out on the west side. They saw another mega-size
yacht out on the water.  Hope they get to safety before the storm.  (maybe their on a 3 hour tour lol ).
Back to the seals, their first find was a male with no tags. He was resting on the rocks. They believe this could be RG32.
There was a second seal to the right. It was alone and they couldn't see much of the seal to make an ID. Reported as an Unknown Adult.

Their next find was at Kahe. There were fishers on the rocks so they were surprised a seal was in the area. That's when they saw a seal swim by. They ID'd him as RL08m he was heading west.

Next they headed over to plains. RT06 Marvin came up later in the day. When they saw him he was resting and folks were walking by him. The lifeguards were at the other tower, since this one is under repair.  RT06 is about 99% done with his molt. They noted there was
no fur around anywhere. He probably gets it washed off when he goes for a swim. Team R&B have grown attached to this boy. Hope he is a regular west side guy.
