Team Billand was out at 4:50 am (okay that's just crazy) and they found RE74 Benny at Paradise Cove. He was on the lower shore snoozing so they places some signs and took a picture. At 5:59 Benny started to snort, sneeze, turned around to face the water did his ritual pee and slowly entered the water rolling over and over. They got word that he had been there since 1 am, guess he's just taking a quick nap and leaving.
Next stop Kahe where Team Billand found RH32 Ka'ale snoozing alone on the rocks. He looks so clean and white with his new coat. He was ID'd by his tag and male fat belly. (Apparently he was there yesterday too Team Billands' first find, but I didn't see the email.)
At Maili Team Billand saw an animal foraging doing 6 minute dives, the critter had tags. They made it to the other side and saw the seal hauling in on the lower rocks. It was Kekoa Alii RK72 who came up to snooze in between the rocks. It was pretty windy and cold at the time. On their recheck in the afternoon he was still there basking peacefully.
Team Billands' next find was at 30 minute beach where the spotted a seal on the rock sleeping. There were a few people in the area and people arriving to the area. Team Billand was able to ID Lei Ola RH48 still with hook. She was resting with her head in the water. She seem to be aware of the people around had her eyes open and looking up now and then. Team Billand didn't stay long and called it a day;
Posse Pal Gayle spotted 3 critters on Rabbit Island today. The smaller critter made it's way into the water tonight at 17:50 and the the 2 larger ones followed. Gayle also noted there were lots of man-of war on the beach today, and included a pictures with a MOWPZ .
Gayle found Right Spot R016 in the same place she left her last night. She slept late and at 10:50am (same time as yesterday) she departed. At 14:20 Right Spot returned to the same spot (she sure is predictable) Gayle left her at 18:45.
