Jaime (DLNR/NARS), Don (HMMA volunteer) & I headed out to KPt to look for RO40 "Ka'ena" - I was spotted with line coming out of his mouth over the weekend.
We found RR70 "Rip" (aprox 95% molted) and RO40 "Ka'ena". Tracy was informed and a team was dispatched.
Unfortunately the dehooking wasn't successful because "Ka'ena" managed to get away from the crowding team. Michelle had a chance to briefly see his mouth, she said it was a small hook and not life threatening. He must be able to shake it off.
Before the team arrived "Rip" left, I went and check the Main Pool and found RW02 "PV Kauai" who sneaked in on us. He spent a couple of hours and left. His neck was all ruffled up , looks like he has started his molt.
Great team work today
