My first look at Rabbit Island at 0710 was a
bust, however when I returned to Makai Pier at 0845 I found a feeding
Sadie(RB12)&PO1) at the west end of the beach at RI. The would remain at
the west end, however between feeds and snoozes, the would 30 swim sessions.
They were briefly joined by what would to be Kekoa (RK72) for an all too join.
Kekoa would depart and would spend the entire day amongst the rocks to the
right of Seal Rock Inlet.
At 1308 Hanauma Bay posse member Kaipo called at to advise that he had seen a
lone animal just beyond the east end fence of the HB beach. I went to join him
at the bay and we discovered Kaiwi (RK96) out on the east end rock flats,
approximately 100 ft east of the fence. Hanauma Bay was close on Tuesday, so
Kaipo had the place with Kaiwi all alone today.
The highlight of the day came with a text from Donna with a photo sent to her
by one of kayak friends, showing a photo of Nani(RK60),PO2, and Aukai(RL12/13)
which the kayaker sighted the tag as RL13 tag. I’d thought that it might have
been Aukai at yesterday at RI, but of course I couldn’t prove a thing.
She was not there today at RI, so its possible by her Moku Nui action. You
might find it an interesting factoid. Nani & Aukai are in fact sisters to
mother of M&M.
Team Billand called at 0948 with the report of RW02 at Lahi Lahi on the west
side.
At the 40MIN mark on the west side KP trail Team Billand found RL42.
At 1433 the Billands reported Ka’ale (RH32) at Maili.
Ocean Safety (Lifeguards) called me at 1746 with the report of a new arrival to
Kaimana Beach. I contacted the Hotline.
