Mailyn checked in at 0920 with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) at the Kokee Flats.
Things got a lot more interesting when Gayle called at 1152, advising that she was in the company of Buster (RV08) & RG32, at the east end of Sandy Beach. Today marks the first time that he has been documented up close other than kinda/sorta close encounters on 3 occasions at Spitting Cave, in April of 2016. That was in his L5 bleach period. Our relationship is at the 8/10th of a mile on RI. We noted that he has a scar above the right eye running down the eye. That had not been visible at a distance.
Team Billand was on it as usual, starting out early with 3 swimming heads, and a lay net in the area which is always stressful. At 0802 RN14 hauled out to Maili, followed at 0817 by Kekoa (RK72). Lei Ola (RH48) was the next to arrive at Maili. She had last been seen at the same locations on 3-28-17.
At 0902 the Billands found Pohaku (RO28) at Depots, Nanakuli.
