When I panned back to check Kolohe at 0749 he was hurriedly galumphing to the water , having spied another animal in the shore break. I got a few brief glimpses of the water activity, and then at 0824 both would haul out fronting Left Greenery. The other animal would prove to be Aukai (RL12). Her N12 bleach was clearly visible several times today, but Nikon just can’t capture it.
On a pan at 0803 I found an animal just hauling out, 40 ft left of Seal Rock Inlet. It would prove to be Kea (RN46). He galumphed up to join the juvenile male and after some playful interaction they both went back to snooze mode. All cast members would move down to cool off mid day.
I think Ka’ena Point was more than well covered today. The Perrys (Lusi&Jason), Barbara & Marilyn were all out, along with the usual weekend compliment of adoring hordes. At one time or another all would report the same KP cast. RW02 on the back beach, Squinty (R330)&Kerby(RW08) up in the Naupaka, and Ka’ena (RO40),R3CU & Luana (RN58) in the water.
At 0855 the other half of Team Billand, Robert, reported Pohaku (RO28) on the Ewa Beach side of the White Plains east end perimeter fence.
At 1326, Team Billand was reunited again and reported Benny (RE74) once again at Lahi Lahi, Makaha.
Dr. Tom sent shots of an animal he encountered at the Elbow today, Turtle Bay. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough visible info to make an ID, however it appeared to be an adult male with a new coat.
