12/11/2016 DB's Dailies: Kolohe,Kea&J/M@Rabbit Island, Benny@Secrets, U/U foraging CIP

At 0730 I found what would prove to be Kolohe(RW22) snoozin’ in the grass, behind Seal Rock Inlet on Rabbit Island. At 0745 a juvenile sized animal hauled out and moved up to join Kolohe. To my shock & awe at 0755 that beautiful right fore flipper came into view as they interacted. It was Kea (RN46) !!! I’ve been stressin’ A LOT on that boy’s absence. He has established a pattern of showing up at Rabbit Island every 12-14 days. Where he goes in between as been a mystery. This time around his last sighting at RI was 52 days ago (10-20-16). His last sighting came from Team Billand on 11-22-16 (19 days), foraging off shore of Campbell Industrial Park. Welcome home kid !

 He and Kolohe interacted quite a bit, with no aggression at all. It was just buddy to buddy , glad to see ya’ fun.

 At 0949 Kolohe spied an animal in Seal Rock Inlet and moved into the water. I lost both until Kolohe & the juvenile male Unknown hauled out together at mid Middle Cliff on RI.

 Team Billand checked in at 0632 with the report of Benny (RE74) at Secrets, KoOlina.

 At 1010 they found a foraging animal off shore of Campbell Industrial Park ,doing 6-7 minute dives. There just wasn’t enough info to be able to make a call. Barbara said there were 2 red tags,
